About
Tric O’Heare grew up in Melbourne and now shares her time between the city and regional Victoria. She has taught literature and writing in a wide range of educational settings. Initially her writing was informed by the classical and modern poets she was introduced to through her education. Early reading led her to anthologies such as The Penguin Book of Women Poets which became like a personal canon. Here were poets, whose names she had never heard of, speaking to her urgently and vividly across time and culture. Their work, and the fact of their work, is an enduring inspiration.
